Cocaine Use

What is cocaine use?

Cocaine is a powerful stimulant drug. It gives a short-lived feeling of energy and confidence, but the effects wear off quickly and are often followed by a comedown of low mood, anxiety and tiredness. This cycle can lead people to use more and more.

Cocaine use has risen sharply in the UK and is widely talked about as a growing issue in construction, often linked to drinking culture, cash in hand and pressure to keep going. Using cocaine with alcohol creates a substance in the body called cocaethylene, which puts extra strain on the heart.
