Money Worries and Debt

How are money and mental health linked?

Money worries and mental health are closely connected. Debt can cause stress, anxiety, sleepless nights and depression. In turn, mental health problems can make it harder to work, manage money and deal with bills.

In construction, irregular work, late payments, self-employment, the cost of tools and vans, and tax bills can all create financial pressure. Many people feel ashamed of debt and hide it, which can make things worse. Debt problems can be solved, and free, impartial help is available.
