Construction SMEs Call for Better Representation

Rob Hayhurst and Jenny Creamer are helping raise awareness around what they say is a lack of representation for small and medium sized businesses in UK construction.

The pair are supporting calls for more SME voices to be included in major industry decisions around training, funding and skills development. Campaigners argue that while SMEs make up the majority of construction businesses in the UK, many feel overlooked when key decisions are made.

The movement is gaining support from tradespeople and smaller firms who believe current systems favour larger contractors, particularly when it comes to training budgets and apprenticeship support.

Supporters say giving SMEs a stronger voice could help improve recruitment, training opportunities and the future of the construction workforce across the UK.
